The man in the white T-shirt is Preston Singletary, a prominent Native American artist who works mainly in glass. A lot of his work is influenced by Pacific Northwest themes. His great-grandparents were full Tlingit Indians. He was the resident guest artist when I took these photos in the Hot Shop of the Tacoma Museum of Glass.

The Hot Shop is an auditorium where visitors can get close to the actual creative processes. The intense glow from the ovens and Glory Holes creates a red tone on human skin.
